Rather we acknowledge it or not, we all have a personal brand based off the impressions we’ve left with other people.
Your personality is your brand and the impressions you leave upon others shape your brand image; so, it is important that you present yourself in a positive manner.
i am woman suffered a brand identity crisis because i suffered from a personal one.
i started blogging two years ago to vent.
to heal myself through writing.
i had no real plan for my blog.
i just knew i was good at writing.
i knew i had a voice.
and i knew i wanted to be heard.
i knew i want to give hope.
and embolden other women through the use of my personal story.
but as i grew.
as my blog grew.
my vision became blurred.
my purpose was skewed.
and i never knew my how
all because i struggled with my why.
to be clear on your brand, one must be sure of self.
and i was not.
i, like most, failed to recognize and underestimated the importance having a personal brand.
failing to then realize that my personal brand was my business.
and that my business was me.
you are your brand.
it would not exist without you.
so here are 4 reasons as to why you need a personal brand:
- helps you to identify why others are drawn to you
- helps others understand why they should invest in you
- it clarifies your reputation (what it is you want others to say and think of you)
- identifies what actionable steps you need to take in order to leave that impression (refer back to number 3)
if nothing else branding brings clarity to who you are and it clarifies your purpose.
it makes it easier for others to work with you.
and you them.
attracting the right kind of attention.
the right kind of business.
without wasting time in figuring out if its the “right fit” or not.
i can attest that since bringing clarity to my brand, I have doubled if not tripled my readership.
i have determined ways to monetize my blog.
and it is easier for me to create content, collaborate and influence others because i have a clear and concise understanding of who i am and the purposes for my business.
