more often than not i have my best ideas either while driving or while working out.
a typical morning consists of me
first talking to jesus
journaling my daily gratitudes
mapping out things to do for the day
and then by 6 am
i am off to get my steps in.
while i don’t totally hate
nor do i totally love the size that i am now
i recognize that bottom line
exercise is more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle
define what that looks like to you.
i have girls to raise.
a man to love.
and a growing business to you
and i want to be around as long as i can.
i want to be the best version of myself
it is about strengthening your mind.
so i share with you today 6 reasons why exercise makes you more productive:
i think this is the most obvious one.
i typically feel like a badass ready to take on the world
after i’ve gotten in a good morning workout.
i mean who doesn’t?
we already know the benefits of listening to music
add that to your morning workout
and your mind becomes this powerhouse
preparing you for your day.
reminding you of things that you need to get done.
boosting your confidence.
allowing you to dominate that presentation at work.
write that piece you’ve been agonizing over.
submit that pitch you’ve been anxious about.
we become more aligned with
suddenly our to-do lists
doesn’t seem so daunting.
enhances your mood
scientifically, exercise releases endorphins
which is also known as a natural mood enhancer.
but on a more basic level
exercising gives us that one on one personal time
we as moms.
or in some cases
we sometimes crave for.
it gives us the freedom to sort through
our thoughts and emotions
allowing our anger
to melt away with the dripping of sweat.
with each step.
and by the end of our workout
we sometimes have figured out the solution to our problem
or maybe we have decided to just put it all to bed
because it wasn’t worth our energy in the first place
there are times when i feel as though
my world is coming to an end.
i am mad at everything
and everyone in it.
i feel closed off.
as if i am going to explode
if i don’t do something drastic.
if change does’t soon come.
i stress in my neck
and in my shoulders
often causing me to pull muscles
more than i care to.
and then i remember
nothing is as bad as it seems.
either during exercise
it never fails that i get my best ideas.
i would assume that has to do with point number 2:
as my body is more relaxed.
my mind is more open.
and i am in mental state to
think and act freely.
moral of the story:
exercise isn’t just about weight loss
or trying to fit into those jeans
or that dress you no longer can wear.
its a self-healing practice.
