I used to struggle with getting up early.
Now it’s like second nature,
as my days start at 4:30,
no later than 5 a.m.
Aside from my normal
have a little talk with Jesus
and tell Him all about my troubles lol
I usually head straight into the kitchen
and grab one of my favorite two mugs
(’cause you know as a blogger its all about the aesthetics)
and fix myself a nice hot cup of
Yup, that’s right,
I love me some tea.
There is more tea in my house
than there is coffee
and I am okay with that.
And, right now, I am swooning over the
Mango Green & Rooibos Tea from H.C. Valentine
as well as the Awesome Organic Breakfast Tea
also from H.C. Valentine,
a Birmingham-based coffee and tea company owned by royal cup coffee
(And, if you keep reading, i’ll tell you how to win two teas of your own)
Because the Awesome Organic Breakfast Tea
is primarily a black tea,
I chose to infuse it with some of my favorite fruits
(one of which just happens to be mango)
I first boiled some hot water
(using a small sauce pan)
and filled it just shy of the top so the water wouldn’t boil over
I transferred the water to the steeper
along with 1 tablespoon of tea leaves
I used frozen fruit for the infusion
(specifically mangos and strawberries)
simply because after the initial steeping of 20 minutes
I allow the mixture to sit overnight and didn’t want
a bitter taste from soggy fruit.
I used about 6 pieces of fruit (3 of each)
After allowing the fruit-infused tea to sit for 20 minutes,
I added agave nectar light (target brand)
and just a little bit of sugar in the raw.
Instead of pouring the tea,
I simply sat the steeper on top of my mug
and allowed to fill as desired.
Because the Mango Green tea already has
lots of flavor
and smells absolutely amazing,
I only needed to add a little bit of honey
and a few pieces of mango to re-infuse that mango flavor
